Legal Aid and Support Services

You do not need a lawyer to participate in a hearing, but legal help may be available if you choose to seek it. These organizations provide free or low-cost legal assistance, depending on your income and situation:

Idaho Legal
Aid Services

Offers free civil legal assistance to eligible low-income Idahoans.

Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program (IVLP)

Connects eligible individuals with volunteer attorneys for limited legal help.

State Law Library – Idaho Supreme Court

Provides access to legal information, forms, and resources.

Court Assistance Offices (CAO)

Located in county courthouses throughout Idaho, CAOs provide help with forms and basic legal information (not legal advice).
